DECORATIVE TILE TABLES
When I first became interested in decorative tile tables, I was remodeling a bathroom with my father, the first thing I noticed was the durability and numerous design possibilities that can be implemented using tile as a surface for tabletops, not to mention it is much easier working on a table top, than a bathroom floor.
They certainly offer an alternative to accenting your home with something unique in the area of home decorating. The colors and design features is what really sets a tiled table apart from other tables.
Eventhough the tabletop is the main feature of the table, the framework, and base is an important structural element as well, the expressions of ornamental metalwork, such as, decorative scroll and lattice designs add an attractive touch that really ties the table together.
My interest in creating something
unique and distinctive, has always been my main objective. Here you will find some examples of some
ONE OF A KIND TILE TABLES
created by blending some different styles and techniques, it is hard to put them into a certain category, although I have to admit that the ART NOUVEAU and ART DECO themes of the past have played a major part in the influence of the designs.
TILE COFFEE TABLE
THE ABOVE TABLE IS SOME NEW WORK RECENTLY FINISHED, AN INTERESTING TILE COFFEE TABLE CREATED WITH BEAUTIFUL EARTH TONE TILES, AND A NICE DECORATIVE METAL FRAME.
The free flowing forms of this style has always been an attractive type of art area,
the intricate scrollwork and floral patterns of the ART NOVEAU style captivate a whimsical look of nature,
while the ART DECO style of streamlined geometric shapes adds a touch of modernism and nostalgia, focusing on these disciplines gives me a sense of tradition and direction when I am creating the tables.
Thank you for stopping by , my goal and intentions is to display some ORIGINAL WORK for my visitors to view and enjoy, also in the section below there are some links that I have provided to direct you to some other resources related to the mosaic types of tables.
MOSAIC AND ABSTRACT
The MOSAIC and ABSTRACT style is probably the most prominent, and desirable type of tile tabletop.
The individual pieces of tile can range from the hundreds to the thousands depending on the size of the piece.
The mural effect that the mosaic design creates adds great depth and texture to the tabletop, almost like a ceramic painting of sorts.
I think that some of the most beautiful tables are done in this style, especially when the colors and shapes are blended right. Some great examples of MOSAIC and ABSTRACT tables can be seen at WWW.HANDMADETABLES.COM WWW.MIKEMOSAIC.COM and WWW.PECKTILE.COM They all have a good selection of quality handcrafted tables.
Once again I want to thank you for stopping by, and I will try to keep adding some original pieces of work, and resources related to tile tables, I am always on the lookout for some unique objects.
RESPECTFULLY, MICHAEL HILL
